Corporate Christmas dinner in Budapest – what to consider before organizing
Organizing a corporate Christmas dinner rarely falls through because of the choice of venue. Far more often, it is because someone started booking too late, didn't know the exact headcount, or something unexpected came up regarding invoicing in the final week. This summary reviews the questions that are worth clarifying before booking.
When should you book?
In the first two weeks of December, evenings at downtown restaurants sell out weeks in advance. At our venue, the festive offer is valid between November 23 and December 30, 2026, and the most sought-after dates—Thursday and Friday evenings—fill up first.
A reservation becomes finalized once a deposit corresponding to 50% of the expected total is received. We hold the selected date and tables for five days, so you don't have to decide in a single day, but it's not worth delaying for two weeks either.
How many people can be accommodated, and within what timeframe?
The restaurant has a capacity of 130 people. For larger groups, the bottleneck is not space, but the time frame: our restaurant operates in time slots to ensure service remains comfortable at every table.
On weekday evenings, reservations can be made for a 2.5-hour duration, with start times at 17:00, 17:30, 20:00, 20:30, and 21:00. On weekends, it is also 2.5 hours. The duration starts from the reserved time, not upon arrival—for a group of twenty, this can mean a twenty-minute difference, so it is advisable to arrive on time.
The kitchen closes at 23:00, and last orders are taken until 22:45.
Fixed price or à la carte?
For a company dinner, a fixed price is usually simpler: it is predictable in advance, and there is no dispute over the bill. The prices of the festive All You Can Eat & Drink package include the service charge and VAT:
Monday–Wednesday: lunch HUF 11,500, dinner HUF 17,500
Thursday–Friday: lunch HUF 12,500, dinner HUF 18,500
Saturday–Sunday: lunch and dinner uniformly HUF 17,500
The package includes unlimited food and drink consumption. Beverages include mineral water, homemade lemonade, Cappy fruit juices, Coca-Cola products, draft Dreher beer, house wines, Mauro coffee, and Dilmah teas. We offer a 20% discount on spirits and cocktails from our drink menu prices.
What will everyone actually eat?
With a large group, the hardest question is not whether the food is delicious, but whether everyone will find something for themselves. The buffet awaits guests with Mediterranean appetizers, fresh pastries, soups, salads, main courses, and desserts, while in the show kitchen, our chefs prepare grilled dishes, wood-fired oven pizzas, and fresh Italian pasta right before the guests' eyes.
The dishes are deliberately prepared in small portions so you can taste a wide variety of options. For a team of thirty, this is worth more than the most carefully curated fixed menu: no one has to decide in advance, and no one leaves hungry.
Allergies and food intolerances
It is best to ask colleagues about this in advance in the invitation, rather than finding out on-site. Our staff are happy to provide information about allergens on-site, but it is important to know: our restaurant operates in an open-kitchen environment, so cross-contamination cannot be ruled out. In the case of severe allergies, please be sure to notify us in advance.
The headcount that is bound to change
Every organizer knows: the stated headcount is never final. The original headcount can be modified once, by a maximum of 10%, no later than 48 hours before arrival.
This leads to a practical tip: it's better to book for slightly fewer people than you hope for. An upward adjustment of 10% is still acceptable, whereas adjusting downward means the deposit has already been calculated for the larger headcount.
Payment and invoicing
This is the point where the most misunderstandings arise for corporate events, so it is worth coordinating with your finance colleague in advance.
The deposit can be paid on-site in cash or by credit card (VISA, Maestro, MasterCard, SZÉP card), or via bank transfer or online credit card
In case of a bank transfer, we issue a proforma invoice, and an advance invoice after the payment has been received
The remaining amount must be settled on-site at the end of consumption at the latest, in a single payment
Deferred payment by bank transfer is not possible
We cannot issue an invoice for room rental
How to get started
Write to info@aperegina.hu, providing the contact person's phone number, the chosen date, the start time, and the planned headcount. In the case of payment by bank transfer or online card, please also provide the billing details: name, address, company name, and tax number.
